The Global Energy Group recognized 

the need to develop indigenous Nigerian capacity and expertise in the oil and gas sector in order to stimulate the development of the area.  Our community initiatives are designed to promote the use of human 

and material resources, and services from local companies, and  communities in the Niger Delta, without compromising quality, health, safety and environmental standards.

 

 

 

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

In the area of workforce development, Global established 

a technical training program to train and produce a team 

of skilled personnel for different aspects of the operations. Global's  workforce consists of local indigenous talent 

who are involved in all areas of the company's business including engineering, construction, operations, commercial, finance, and management. This has been instrumental in increasing the pool of skilled workers in the industry which 

has been beneficial not only to Global and its affiliates but 

to the oil and gas industry in Nigeria as a whole. 

 

To date, over 400 personnel have graduated from the 

training program with over 90% from the local communities. Global’s curriculum consists of training specifically focused 

on cryogenics, hydrocarbon processing, fractionation, ship management, leadership and project management, and overall plant operations.  As technological advances develop, Global

remains competitive by providing a combination of continuing education and on the job training which shall produce enough graduates in the future to provide a constant supply of talent

to keep up with the growing needs of the industry.

In the area of community development, our strategic community investments have made a significant difference in healthcare, education,  and capacity building which helps support and
compliment the government’s objectives of diversifying the

Niger Delta’s and ultimately, Nigeria’s economic base. Global Gas and Refining Limited has been a leader and continues to

be committed to empowering the indigenous population in the local areas of our operation through technology development

and transfer, education and training, scholarship programs

and sustainable long-term investment ventures.
